Shelley Knick, BSN, RN, CPHRM

Shelley Knick is a Senior Clinical Risk Consultant at Physicians Insurance. She joined the company in 2019 and has more than 24 years of healthcare-industry experience in risk management and consulting, as well as clinical experience.

Prior to joining Physicians Insurance, Shelley spent over a decade and a half in acute care environments in Ohio, Hawaii, and Washington State. She gained expertise in emergency and trauma services, hospital administration, cardiac cath lab services, agency and locums roles, legal nurse consulting, hospital supervision, and stat nurse program development. She participated in the development of one health system’s first risk management program, which encompassed serving adult and pediatric trauma centers and outpatient clinical practices with risk management services. Implementing this program also included a redesign of the organization’s billing risk adjustment process from its foundation.

A registered nurse, Shelley earned her BSN in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati. She is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) and member of the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM). She is also a member of the Florida Society of Healthcare Risk Management (FSHRM) and the Washington Healthcare Risk Management Society (WHCRMS), and a past member of the Georgia State Hospital Risk Management Association (GSHRM). She currently supports PI members from the East to West Coasts and in Hawaii.
